Founded in 1864, the First People’s Hospital of Shanghai, the First People’s Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University, formerly known as Gongji Hospital, was the first batch to pass the third-level hospital assessment in 1992. It integrates medicine, teaching, research, and prevention. The hospital has maintained the title of Shanghai Civilized Unit for twelve times in 24 consecutive years.

The general surgery department of the hospital has purchased a grinding machine from Shanghai Jingxin.
